Lab Work
Below, you will find a collection of images and detailed descriptions of the various biology lab experiments and activities we have conducted throughout the semester. These visuals and explanations aim to highlight the key concepts we explored, the methods used, and the results we observed during our hands-on learning experiences in the lab.

01
Microscopy
In this lab, we used microscopes to observe and compare various types of cells, including plant cells, animal cells, and bacteria cells. The objective was to explore the structure and characteristics of these cells under magnification, noting key differences such as the presence of cell walls in plants, the shape and size of animal cells, and the unique features of bacterial cells. This exercise helped in understanding how microscopes are used as tools to study microscopic organisms and cellular structures.

02
Effect of Temperature on Enzyme Activity
This experiment aimed to investigate the effect of temperature on enzyme activity. Five test tubes were prepared, and incubated at different temperatures. After a 10-minute incubation, OPD and peroxide were added to each tube, followed by a second 10-minute incubation. The enzyme activity was then measured by recording absorbance at 410 nm, and the results were plotted to examine the relationship between temperature and enzyme activity.

03
Mitosis
This experiment aimed to determine the number of cells in each phase of the cell cycle. The focus was on understanding the differences between mitosis and meiosis. Meiosis, a type of cell division, results in the formation of gametes (sperm and eggs) and reduces the chromosome number by half. Mitosis, on the other hand, produces two genetically identical daughter cells with the same chromosome number as the original cell, playing a crucial role in growth, repair, and asexual reproduction.
